Hey Kids Join The Ozone Patrol

OZLAND, NJ-- Renowned scientist, Professor Ozone, announced yesterday the start of his Ozone Patrol. The Professor is looking for kids 12 and under to become POP Members.

"I believe kids in the area will be of great help to us by telling our story to their family and friends," said Professor Ozone.

Professor Ozone Patrol (POP) members pledge to:
     Educate others
Monitor weather conditions
Post Ozone Alert Signs
To join the POP Patrol, ask your teacher or instructor for information and other cool stuff!
POP Members are on alert for these weather conditions:

GOOD Day!
  • Cloudy to somewhat sunny or rainy
  • Temperatures from the mid 70's to low 80's
  • Windy weather

Moderate Day!
  • Partly cloudy to sunny skies
  • Temperatures from the upper 70's to mid 80's
  • Light to moderate wind

Reaching Unhealthy!
  • Sunny skies
  • Temperatures from the high 80's to 90's
  • Little wind

OZONE ALERT:
Unhealthy
  • Hazy, hot and humid
  • Temperatures from 90's Up!
  • Little to no wind
  • AN OZONE ACTION DAY!!!
On OZONE ACTION DAYS, POP Members Pledge to:
Put up their OZONE SIGN on their classroom door at school or on front door at home
Wear their Official POP Membership Badge to remind friends and family to take it easy on these unhealthful days!
On OZONE ACTION DAYS, POP Members encourage their friends and family to not start or stop certain activities:
For short trips, suggest walking or riding a bike for short trips with your parents
For longer trips, suggest taking a bus or enjoying a ride with friends.
Mow the lawn in the evening or better yet, wait for a better day!
Suggest to your parents to make dinner without using a charcoal gill.

Picking something up on the way home or to the game?

Suggest going into the restaurant to order -- and not standing in line for the drive thru!
Remind your parents to gas up the family car only when it needs it, and to never 'top off'
