NJ TRANSIT's Get a Job. Get a Ride! |
| Through NJ TRANSIT's Get a Job. Get a Ride! program, qualifying new employees who attain a job with one of NJ TRANSIT's Corporate Partners, receive a one month bus or rail pass to commute to their new jobs, free. The program was developed by TRANSIT in an effort to support Governor Whitman's welfare reform program, Work First New Jersey. The program reinforces the concept that public transportation is an essential element in the continued economic stability of New Jersey. And, the free pass helps new employees with the difficult transition back to work, while helping to fill the financial gap between their first pay periods. Greater Mercer TMA is able to help new employees identify transit options to their new jobs, as well as provide rideshare and other commuter information to make the job transition as smooth as possible. As a Corporate Partner, there is no cost in offering this benefit to new employees who qualify. It's a free and effective recruiting tool for companies. |
