In 1999, freewheels™ was presented the TMA Innovative Service Award at the 1999 TMA Summit Conference in Boston on April 30, 1999.
The award is given annually to an organization who introduces and/ or develops a successful and highly innovative and unique service or program.
Organizations are nominated and chosen based on process, techniques used, and the uniqueness of service.
As a community, we can all feel proud of this honor, and work towards making freewheels™ even better in the future!

What is freewheels?
|
|
freewheels is a
federally-funded alternative mode of transportation for commuting around Princeton. The
program allows people to hop on a free bike, travel to their area-destination, and then
drop it off at a designated freewheels bike station.

freewheels is not a new
concept. With over 32 programs throughout the country, 'yellow bike' programs have
proven successful in local attempts to alleviate congestion and improve the quality of
life by giving communities a fun, easy way to get to where they need to go (did we
mention it's free!)
